Personal Finance
Math Fundamentals Meet Real-World Applications
Our personal finance program is a workshop-based curriculum designed to equip participants with financial literacy. Through hands-on problem-solving exercises and interactive activities, scholars will apply financial concepts to real-life situations, including personal budgeting, understanding debt, saving, and achieving financial independence.
College Seminar
Developing Intellectual Curiosity & Real-World Connections
In our seminar courses, we tackle real-world problems through interdisciplinary learning. By exploring diverse literary works, we inspire scholars to examine texts from multiple angles, connecting them with fields such as history, psychology, sociology, philosophy, science, and art. This holistic approach enables scholars to make extensive connections, develop strong arguments, and think critically about each topic.
Leadership
Showing Up Ready to Lead
At Scholars, we support the whole student. Our leadership class covers self-advocacy, communication, mindfulness, and stress management. Scholars network with industry professionals, learn effective email writing, and develop time management and executive function skills.
Gotham Scholars is proud to partner with Advantage Testing to provide elite test preparation starting in 11th grade. Students receive customized lesson plans and weekly sessions to build their study skills, test-taking skills, test time management, and confidence to prepare for standardized tests to add to their college applications in 12th grade.
Gotham Scholars is proud to partner with the Brooklyn Debate League to provide subject matter expertise in structured communication and debate. Scholars work on debate prep, research, argument creation, and delivery in a classroom environment. They then use these skills in regular intra-high school tournaments to strengthen their confidence and quick-thinking communication skills.
Gotham Scholars is proud to partner with Home Power Yoga (based in NJ) to provide wellness classes focusing on yoga practice, meditation, nutrition, and mindfulness. Students meet regularly in person with a licensed nutritionist and yoga instructor to discuss stress management and build skills to practice healthy wellness practices throughout their academic careers.
Gotham Scholars is proud to partner with REELWORKS, a NY based media & entertainment nonprofit helping teens discover the world of film making and media from script writing to lighting and camera work. Our curriculum offers filmmaking courses to help develop storytelling skills, project management skills and more.
